It is quite strange that there are so many people out there criticise, wonder and talk about Tony Jaa and his Muay Thai martial art skills, but I never mentioned about this into the blog. However, in my perspective, there was not much to talk about him if we really to mention about his skills of martial arts. Because all poeple know that he is excellent. But there is something to bare in mind that it is something related to the “acting” skills which sometimes it looks quite a bit different in terms of sport Muay Thai. So then if you watch any of Tony’s movie, it is ok only for Muay Thai arts appreciation, but the real fight is another topic.
Yoshihiro Sato (Japan) VS Buakaw Por. Pramuk (Thailand)
Buakaw and Yoshihiro met once in the World Max 2008 tournament held in February 2008 and at that time, Buakaw won by the outvote. However, Sato was not an easy job for Buakaw and actually was very trouble to him as at the end of final round, Buakaw was almost taken down by Sato’s punch.
Individual Strength: Sato: Speed and Accuracy
Not noly for the fight with Buakaw, Sato met many of great professional Muay Thai fighter such as Kaoklai Kaennorsing and he actually demonstrated the uniqueness of accurate attacks. It is obviously shown in the fight with Buakhaw that he perform less attacks but each one was really on the target so this could be, again, very dangerous for Buakhaw.
Buakhaw: Speed, Power and Technique.
He is almost the perfect fighter in Muay Thai history. There is no fighter in his home country in the same weight division who want to beat him. Obviously the power of the attack is the most obvious strength of Buakhaw plus some technique of Muay Thai. These strength then make him become advantage for this coming fight again.
Individual Weakness: Sato: Power
The most obvious pint for Sato in my opinion is the power of the attack. His weapons almost nothing for the opponent if without the accuracy that he is very keen on. Both kicks and punches seems not to make major trouble for his opponents in the past, other than get him scoring at the end of the fight.
Buakhaw: Defensive Technique.
Buakhaw is not really focus on defensive technique. He could fight as long as he could stand on the ring, even though he was heavily attacked. This is the nature of Buakhaw, who is the original excellent “fighter” not “boxer” style.
Prediction of the result.
This match is very hard to predict because I believe that Sato should learn some points from the last fight and improve as well as Buakhaw. Buakhaw may win again if he can maintain his standard and not too under estimate Sato’s accuracy.

Now, again, the biggest martial arts tournament in Asia is going to begin in July 2008. Definitely, this is the event that all of the fans is waiting for and there is, of course, the favourite Muay Thai fighter join the tournament. And again at the first round, he will meet Yoshihiro Sato who seems not a very easy task for Buakhao. The website will provide pre-match analysis of fighters before the tournament as well as the opinion about the prediction of fight result.

Peter Aerts HL
This video reminds me to one of the most favourite fighter, Buakhaw. It is not because the big weight that they are similar but the power of the attack which they both are ready to knock the opponent down in just one effective single shot. Peter’s KO shots were so powerful, especially the high head kicks which seems no one survive after got the attacks. I noticed that Peter is a very clever fighter, the is because he can see the opportunity to use his favourite attacks when the opponent is losing control of defense and finish the fight very quickly. So this is a good practice for all of you that power is not only the key of success but also to technique as well.
HEIWA DREAM.3
LIGHTWEIGHT GRAND PRIX 2nd ROUND
May 11th, 2008
Saitama Super Arena - Saitama, Japan
This is a tournament for light weight fighter for less than 70 kg. There are 18 fighters from different countries which I believe that master in martial arts, but it might be small number from the US. The list of fighters as shown below or you can visit the K-1 official website for more information, we will report result and any interesting topics for this tournament.
This is one of a good site for Muay Thai. I am quite surprise that I always believe that Muay Thai is only popular in England but very rare in the rest of the UK. Scottish is very impress Muay Thai as well as England as I can see through the information available in this website. Also there are not many Muay Thai association overseas play serious role to promote Muay Thai, but Scottish is a very good one. You can visit the website and find out about any Muay Thai event happening in Scotland or even find out more about famous Muay Thai fighter in the country.
This is a very interesting fight, Mike and Andy have equal skills and ability. I love K-1 and any other Muay Thai tournament overseas because fighters will use most of his techniques to overcome. The unique characteristic of Mike is the speed, which makes some troubles to Any to approach and attack. The first two round is obviously not seen no one in advantage until the last two round. When I could see the different between both fighter, Mike seems to have more power than Andy, even though I could not see “unique” skill of Muay Thai attacks from both of them. Their fighting style is very much like boxing with a little of beautiful Muay Thai weapons EXCEPT the excellent of high head kick from Andy!! Part 2
The recent news of WBC Muay Thai has bees established brings the proud to many of Muay Thai fans. This represents that one of the biggest boxing professional body see the importance of Muay Thai and has set up the committee and management body to take care of Muay Thai seriously. Apart from that, this also brought many of Muay Thai organisations around the world become very active on promoting of Muay Thai in many regions all around the globe.
However, meanwhile many of us are enjoying this news, but the other side of thought mentioned that the reason why WBA has turned to officially support Muay Thai is due to business reasons (want to make more money from Muay Thai). However, no matter which reason, in my perspective, there still benefit to sport Muay Thai as it has more opportunity to emerge to the world, especially in the region that still has no idea of this beautiful martial art. You can also visit the website wbcmuaythai.com for more detail about this.
