Started Muay Thai at the age of only 11 years old. Even though at that time he began with other martial art, not Muay Thai (he started with Tekwando), he started to learn martial atr when the age even younger than many of Thai Muay Thai champions. At the age of 32 years old and from Queensland, Australia.

During his first start learning martial arts during his teenage, he started to practice in his home town in Queensland with one of the top promoters Blair Moore. Then at the age of 20 years old, Parr made very significant achievements. He got an Australian Title and a South Pacific Title

In order to congratulate to the new captain of the blue team of the Contender Asia, David Pacquette, now let’s know more about him. David brings a lot of my attention because he looks strong and tough as well as very understanding person. When searching around, I find that David is not just an ordinary Muay Thai fighter, he is also a qualified teacher too. David have gone through almost all types of martial arts and all types of sport such as running, swimming. Apart from that he is also champion of many tiles both in the UK and internationally. He is the person who play major role and influence all of his team members in the Contender Asia, so let’s look further how well he will do in this tournament.

The Best of Muay Thai Promoter: Songchai Ratanasuban

I remember that I used to mention about him in one of the article in this blog that he is the most famous and successful Muay Thai promoter in Thailand. If you are the real Muay Thai fan, you might have heard his name. so today I will introduce a little bit more about him. Songchai may not a famous world class promoter but I would say that Muay Thai industry can not go as far ads it appears today without his contribution. The One Songchai Muay Thai tournament is something that Muay Thai fans are familiar with. Songchai is not only the person who contributes himself to Muay Thai, but the whole of his family members at the moment are also involve in Muay Thai promotion. His daughter is promoting lady Muay Thai and she is the only one female Muay thai promoter in Thailand, meanwhile his son also helping him on Muay Thai promotional activities overseas. I would like to mention about him in this section even though he is not a fighter but considered as the most important for Muay Thai business in Thailand.

This name has brought to my attention by his participation in the Contender Asia as well as his friendly but a bit strange personality, then I would like to find out more about him. What T can see from his record is that he may be very new to me, who just first take a look the Contender. But he is very famous Muay Thai fighter in France who gain consecutive champion title since the year 1999-2005!! Apart from that, he also used to fight with Yodsanklai Fairtex in early 2007 and the fight was very exciting and I have to admit that he was better than Yodsanklai at the early stage of the fight and even though he lost KO to Yodsanklai. In my opinion, he can perform all kinds of technique and approach of original Muay Thai as well as speed and powerful attacks, I believe that only the one who used to fight with him is the best person who can tell how best he is.

Fighter Review: Naruepon Fairtex

No Contender Asia fans do not know him. He is one of the excellent Thai Muay Thai fighters who has recently joined the series, together with his friend, Yodsaenklai Fairtex. Naruepon not reputable only in this series or in many of international competition, he also the ex-champion of Lumphini Stadium in 2005, which I think it is the most difficult to get title of this stadium because there were a lot of the well known and more-than-excellent fighters around. His camp, Fairtex is also reputable so should be no doubt what make him so strong and difficult to fight with. The most distinctive skills are knee kick and elbow. Even though he is really young, only in his early twenties) but I think he received such a wonderful success, compare to other Thai fighters in Thailand. This may be because he receive a lot of promotion and support from his camp to encourage him to develop skill as well as to support to fight overseas.

I accidentally found his website from links in K-1 Grand Prix page. Really surprise to know that he has very good Muay Thai skill, and good enough to be in the final round of K-1 2005 in Japan. Even though it was quite long time ago, but if you dig further down to his record and title bit you will see that he went through the final round of K-1 since the year 2000, which I believe that not many fighter could make such a successful and amazing records. For his fighting record, it does not about the number of winning fight that he had, but what interest me most is 50 KOs out of 60 fight that he won. This particularly interesting to me. Even though I do not know a lot about him, but after I saw some of his fights in youtube (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Ray+Sefo&search_type=) I would say that he is one of the best non-Thai Muay Thai (but I personally rather call mix between Muay Thai and kick boxing rather than purely Muay Thai) I have ever seen. You may also discuss more about his fight after you experience some of the videos. At present time Ray is the owner of Ray Sefo Fight Academy, which located in New Zealand.
Many thanks for information from www.raysefo.com

Fighter Review: Sirimongkol Singwangcha

sirimongkol.gif

This name more familiar to me as a world champion for international boxing competition (WBU). But when I eventually saw the result of the K-1 Asia in late February 2008, just curious why I miss this important guy until he lost to Korean fighter in this tournament. Sirimongkol was a Muay Thai fighter before he turned to international boxing and gained the world titles. However, not every champions always have beautiful life, he also had a critical bad time. I don’t have much detail about him as a Muay Thai fighter because his Muay Thai life is too short, he started to fight international boxing since I was young and finally join K-1 in early 2007. However, I also heard that he is one of the best fighter, particularly for his punch and jabs, but unfortunately, his route for K-1 Asia has ended after lost to Korean fighter, Su Hwan Lee, but I still admire to him as the person who will never give up, even though there were many of hard time that he had to struggle to survive.

Fighter Review : Bua Khao Por Pramuk

I will try my best to make this post not so boring, as many of you already know him and seem no one in international Muay Thai competition never heard of this name. I still remember the picture of Bua Khao when he was around early of his twenties, lying his chin on the head of his opponent (high head kick) and that shot is one of my favourite picture and it still at my room. Even though he is the fighter who made a lot of achievements in both international and in-country competitions but he has not different starting point from other Muay Thai fighters, began Muay Thai training at age of 8 years old and move to Por Pramuk gym when he was 15

What makes me believe the reason behind his success is the fighting style, the characteristic of “tough” and power make him unbeatable. In the same weight division, feather weight, there is no fighter who gain even equal skills to him and fight with him. However, he may not be the best Muay Thai in my eyes, compare to a lot of others fighter in Thailand, but I have to admit that he is one of the Thai proud among other Thai fighters out there.

Fighter Review: Saenchai Sor Kingstar

The name may not familiar for international Muay Thai fans, but I would encourage you, if you do not know who he is, to see his fight and you will realised that why he is very famous in Thailand. He is not only the boxer who does very well in Muay Thai, but
Saenchai also got the title of PABA in feather weight division. Saenchai was actually had a boxing name Saen Chai Sor Kamsing, who was trained by the most famous Muay Thai fighter in the past, Somrak Sor Khamsing but after time, Saenchai has change the name and move to different camp call Sor. Kingstar. This is the reason why he is the boxer that there is no one in the same weight division want to fight with him because in Thailand, he could beat all men who are in the same weight division!!!!
