50 kicks in 30 seconds Muay Thai

Friday, March 28th, 2008

This is very short video but really interesting. 50 kicks in 30 seconds may not really surprise me because this can be found in general and even more fighter can do more than that. But what we learn form this video is that this kind of practice is not a real indicator of he will does good on the ring. This because there is absolution no chance to take such as massive kicks and also it’s just a waste of power. But double kicks can be seen from all of the fights which I think there is no further benefit to take many kicks in the real fight. But this is a kind of training strategy to enhance fighter’s speed and accuracy of the kicks.

Muay Thai training – kicks

There are so many video lessons that teach about Muay Thai kicks, but this video really interest to me because it teaches me against to my perception. I may be wrong because I am not a fighter, but what I was told is that Muay Thai kick will be powerful and reduce chance of injury if using shin to kick not the lower shin that mentioned in the video. The instructor also mentioned that to make your kick safe and avoid injury, fighter should use lower shin to kick not upper chin, which in my very common understanding is that lower shin, which connected to the feet is the joint where is more sensitive. So, please correct me if I am wrong about reviewing this video, may be some other types of Muay Thai kicks that also use lower shin to kick.

The Art of muay thai- Kicking

This video is very interesting for me, even though it talks about very basic practice of Muay Thai kicks, but what I like about this video is that it is the one that I never seen before. Even though I am Thai and have seen a lot of Muay Thai basic training videos. Apart from that the demonstrator is Samkor Keatmonthep, the boxer who owns many of Muay Thai international championship. But the more important thing is Samkor is one of the most my favourite which I can say that his approaches are greatly perfect. You may have to learn from this video for the accuracy of the kicking approaches demonstrated by him. However, even though the announcer of this video seem not to have knowledge about Muay thai kicks but announcing in English is good.
